You know I strangely kind of like it o.o

Though this Megaman has sure gained quite a few pounds since he posed for the box art in Mega Man 1  years ago.

That's practically a giant Capcom middle finger in the face of Mega Man fans.

"Oh, you DON'T want another Street Fighter remake? Well take your Mega Man and shove it, you bastards!"

I guess it's back to making 8BDM modifications and building things in Mega Man Powered Up :(

Also, the description:

Quote
Known as a Digger, a person who digs up relics from the past for research. He is a hot-tempered man, but has a strong sense of justice and is also very polite. His weak point is that he is easily rattled when backed into a corner. He is always running around in a hurry due to the demands of his partner Roll, and this time he's been asked to travel to Antarctica to retrieve a mysterious box.

I don't think he's the Robot Master we all know and love.

I would LOVE to see an anime style Mega Man Volnutt alternitive costume for him one day soon.

That isn't even Bad Box Art Mega Man! He's too fat to even be Mega Man, let alone a robot.

That's it. I'm going back to MUGEN, where you can have Mega Man Volnutt fighting against freaking Onslaught.

Repost from another forum:

I can get over that it's just meant to be LOLS (destructoid seem to think it's meant to be an ironic statement that megaman fans need to grow up (especially after the MML3 stuff) but I don't think Capcom jp are that clever) but the fact that they COULD please mega man fans very easily and just WON'T, for no real reason, really makes me sad.

If it IS meant to be an ironic stab (maybe they'll back this up with a statement), then well done, very clever, I applaud... Can we have some actual mega man fan service now? Or even a new mega man game? Please??

As I've been saying everywhere.
1) He was promised to us as a playable character in MMU but ended up missing his chance, so here he is as a playable character.
2) He was in ZX Advent, he was the basis behind the "cover art" for Megaman 9 and 10 and no one complained.
3) We wanted classic Megaman in a fighting game, and hey, this was the first Megaman anyone saw in the US, can't get more Classic then that.
4) They are mixing up the characters in the fighting games. Maybe we will see EXE or Ryuusei in the next Smash Bros. game.
5) The Digger thing, "He looks like a Coal Miner."
6) Ono asked Inafune about using him in the game. (also remember Inafune designed the characters in Street Fighter too)
7) Pacman is even MORE ridiculous then him.

So Pac-Man is riding a mecha here. Does this remind you of Tron Bonne in Marvel vs Capcom?

If Pacman wasn't a Namco-Bandai character that would probably have passed my mind, sadly he is a "Bamco" character, not a Capcom character, so likely "Bamco" suggested he be in a wooden robot suit.
Also note in the video you can clearly see the thing shooting LASERS out of the eyes. And his attacks are nothing of Tron's.

Kinda, but it's a nice cameo for Mokujin, the wooden robot in Tekken, although I don't remember him shooting lazors out of his eyes.

And yellow, although that was in the box art.
