Oh look it's the official zelda timeline yay
« on: December 24, 2011, 12:04:00 AM »
Source : http://www.zeldauniverse.net/zelda-news ... ranslated/

This is official, it was taken from hyrule historia, the zelda "book" with the shitton of concept arts and stuff

(click to show/hide)

apparently, after Ocarina of time, it splits into 3 branches, if child link leaves, leading to mm and tp, or if link leaves as an adult, leaving to the era where wind waker takes place

wait what there is a 3rd, if link FAILS IN OOT

Seriously Nintendo? Link fails?, while it explains a lot, with this you could create a shitton of alternate timelines if you consider that in every game link FAILS AND DIES

well, comment and For the love of god don't start a flame war

EDIT: I derped and posted it in anything goes when i should've posted it in WWW board, move it there if needed please.

LIES, LIES AND SCANDLES
This is cool, but it ruins the LoZ series for me, it never needed a time line.

Links Awakening was always after a link to the past. It's just the Oracles being in between is new to me.

I find it funny that the first two games in the franchise are the last of their alternate timeline, while the most recent game is the first in the entire timeline...

Damn it Nintendo did you make this up a week ago or was it all planned

*Gamecube/GBA cable sold separately

The 4 Swords title a little ways down the timeline is another game named 4 Swords Adventures...It's an expansion of the original released on the Gamecube, where a GBA can be connected via a cable* that plugs into the Gamecube so you can use your GBA as a second screen.

Shhh! Its a secret to everybody!

Personally i dont quite care for the timeline though. As long as the games are amusing, i mean, most good videogames threw away logic for amusement, for good reasons. Not that i played alot of Zelda games though. Heard the new one was botched up pretty badly.

There was always speculation on that since I do believe Link gets on a boat at the end of the Oracles games.  It can be assumed it's this boat that gets tossed about in the beginning to Link's Awakening.

For some odd reason, I always thought Link sailed out on a raft, instead of a ship, at the end of the Oracle games.

I somehow don't understand why Toon Link's games started after the Adult Era. Then again, it IS a time-line for a game series that doesn't need a time-line. Make's thing too hard to understand.

I think it was a raft now, and it's a raft that gets destroyed in Link's Awakening, isn't it?  I mean, that makes even more sense.

Ages/Seasons Ending:

Link's Awakening Intro:

They're definately both ships, albeit slightly different ships, but I THOUGHT they it was a raft in Ages/Seasons before. I haven't beaten the link game in a very long time and my memory got a bit hazy.

WHAT THE HELL!? Three timelines, one involving Link Failing!? First off, is there a specific time when he's supposed to fail? Second, is there a WAY he's supposed to fail!? Third, WHY DOES HE HAVE TO FAIL!?

failed timeline: Link dies in the final battle with ganon, and ganondorf stays that way for the rest of the timeline hence why all the failed timeline games only have ganon and no mention of ganondorf, and he's always revived meaning it's most likely the same ganon, after killing link, he took all 3 triforce and changed the sacred relm into the dark world thus starting a link to the past

yet in the other timelines he's ganondorf scince he either A) never gotten the triforce of power and never changed, B) he changed but after being defeated he reverted back to his gerudo form
